Josh Riley announces Streetscape project for Endicott’s Little Italy

A neighborhood known for its proud Italian heritage is receiving a significant amount of funding to revamp its streets and sidewalks. Endicott’s Little Italy is receiving $500,000 for its Streetscape Project. Congressman Josh Riley says he brought Democrats and Republicans together to approve the funding. Riley grew up in Endicott and says the project means more than just money for a neighborhood, it’s a recognition of a community’s proud heritage and a real investment in its future.

He says Little Italy means so much to the community, you can taste it in the pasta, hear in in the music, and see it in the smiles on children’s faces. Riley says the community has overcome lots of adversity after IBM left, leaving behind pollution and taking jobs.
