A new report highlights how Italy is turning architectural restoration into a key driver of the ecological transition, combining historic preservation with innovation and energy efficiency. The study, titled “100 Italian Green Architectural Conservation Stories,” presents 100 case studies that illustrate how the country is rethinking the way it restores and reuses existing buildings.
The construction sector is a central focus of this transformation. Across Europe, buildings account for more than one third of total energy consumption and CO2 emissions, making renovation and energy upgrades a priority for reaching 2030 climate targets.
