Italy’s economic strength is often described through tourism, food, fashion and luxury. But the latest trade figures tell a much broader story. Italy is increasingly a manufacturing and export powerhouse, selling hundreds of billions of euros in goods ranging from advanced machinery and pharmaceuticals to food, furniture, fashion and industrial technology.
During the first 6 months of 2026, Italian goods exports reached €337.2 billion, an increase of 4.5% compared with the same period in 2025. Even more significantly, this was not simply the result of higher prices. Export volumes increased by 0.7%, confirming that foreign demand for Italian products remained resilient.
