Italy turns culture and Made in Italy into a new engine for economic growth

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

Italy is preparing to strengthen the economic foundations of the Made in Italy brand by linking industrial policy, cultural creativity and strategic investment more closely than in the past. Two initiatives expected to gain momentum in fall 2026 – the National Made in Italy Fund and a new national strategy for cultural and creative industries – point toward a broader vision in which Italian identity is treated not only as cultural heritage, but also as an economic asset.

The National Made in Italy Fund has €900 million available for investments designed to reinforce strategic Italian supply chains. Activated in July 2026, the fund can invest public capital under market conditions in companies operating in sectors considered important for Italy’s economic security and industrial competitiveness.
