The Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia will host a cultural diplomacy event titled Italian Soccer, Heritage & the 2026 FIFA World Cup, bringing together leaders from the worlds of sports, culture, education, and civic life.
The initiative aims to celebrate Italy’s rich soccer tradition, highlight Philadelphia’s role as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and encourage new connections between Italian and American institutions that will extend well beyond the tournament. Attendance requires RSVP confirmation and a government-issued photo ID. Walk-ins will not be admitted.
The evening will feature a panel discussion with prominent figures from the soccer community: Giovanni Savarese, Ferdinando De Matthaeis, Angelo Orlando, Vince Papale Jr., Joe Balsamo.
