Balich Wonder Studio is Italian in its origins, creative language and approach to spectacle. Founded in Milan in 2013 by Marco Balich, Gianmaria Serra and Simone Merico, the company combines Italian craftsmanship, design, emotion and theatrical imagination to produce some of the world’s largest live events.
The studio is now strengthening its international presence by establishing 3 permanent North American hubs in New York, Los Angeles and Mexico City. The expansion will allow its creative and production teams to work more closely with regional clients while pursuing opportunities in sports, entertainment, luxury, cultural events and immersive experiences.
The announcement follows a series of major achievements. Balich Wonder Studio recently produced 6 ceremonies and fan experiences for the 2026 FIFA World Cup across 6 host cities, culminating with the closing ceremony in the New York area.
For the tournament’s opening, the company coordinated interconnected ceremonies in Mexico City, Los Angeles and Toronto – an unprecedented operation spanning 3 countries, languages and cultures. Approximately 900 people were involved, including a core team of 30 working from Milan and around 300 professionals in each host nation.
Earlier in 2026, the studio produced the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony at San Siro. The production involved approximately 1,200 volunteer performers, more than 1,400 costumes and nearly 700 hours of rehearsals before an audience of about 61,000 spectators.
Marco Balich has accumulated credits on 16 Olympic ceremonies and 13 regional games, while the company has also worked on the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
