Italy’s beverage industry remains a key pillar of the country’s economy and a central component of Made in Italy, but it is navigating a more complex landscape shaped by geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressure, and shifting consumer habits.
The sector includes more than 3,100 manufacturing companies employing about 42,700 people and generating €26.3 billion in annual revenue. Of that total, €11.9 billion comes from exports, accounting for over 20% of the entire food and beverage export value.
