Italian-accented Palm Beach gala raises funds for homeless services

By: Shannon Donnelly

The atmosphere was decidedly Italian as the friends and supporters of St. Ann Place Outreach Center gathered for the organization's signature Palm Beach fundraiser. The dinner dance took place Feb. 7 at the Sailfish Club.  Tom and Melinda Hassen were chairman and chairwoman for the evening, which was themed "The Eternal City" and celebrated the music, food and beauty of Rome.

The night began with a cocktail reception that recalled "La Dolce Vita" with an Amalfi-yellow Vespa against a backdrop of grapevine-covered palazzos and Italian-themed cockails and hors d'oeuvres. From the reception, the crowd moved to the dining room for dinner and remarks from CEO John Pescosolido, who presented the organization's prestigious Founders Award to Margie McCloskey O’Neil for her dedication and steadfast support of the organization’s outreach efforts.
