Holy Rosary history book returns in limited reprint

By: Jody Valet

After being out of print since 2018, The Story of Holy Rosary Catholic Church is available through a limited reprint, making this important piece of Kansas City's Italian American history available again. Founded in 1891 to serve the city's growing Italian immigrant community, Holy Rosary Catholic Church has remained a center of faith, tradition, and community for more than 130 years.

While generations of parishioners eventually moved beyond the neighborhood, Holy Rosary continues to serve as the spiritual home of Kansas City's Italian American community. Originally published in 2018, The Story of Holy Rosary Catholic Church documents the parish's first 127 years through extensive research, historic photographs, church records, newspaper accounts, and personal stories.

The book explores the history of the parish, the Scalabrinians who have served Holy Rosary since its founding, Holy Rosary School, the parish's statues, feast days and societies, and the families whose faith and perseverance helped shape Kansas City's Italian American community.

Copies are $35. Orders must be received by July 24, 2026. Holy Rosary Book Order Form
