Some cities are so beautiful and iconic that they become inspirational for artists of all kinds, including musicians. Both the US and our beloved Belpaese offer plenty of urban examples that, throughout the decades, found a special place in the history of music, from New York to LA, all the way to the Seattle of grunge.
But today, we’re focusing on Italy, and we couldn’t start from anywhere else than Naples, whose music, by the way, could soon be selected as the next Italian candidate to the UNESCO Heritage List. Naples is special: long before radio and cinema helped songs travel quickly, its music had already created a very solid image of the city that reached well beyond Italian borders.
