At United Nations Headquarters, in the ECOSOC Chamber, the UN held its first “Italophony Day,” a warm and joyful celebration of the Italian language. The event took place on Thursday, October 22, under the title “A Brilliant Language: Imagining, Designing, and Creating with Italian.”
The event was organized by the Permanent Missions of Italy, San Marino, and Switzerland as part of the Week of the Italian Language in the World. Around 300 people attended, including high-level guests from academia, the music industry, and diplomacy, as well as young Italian and Italian-American students.
