One of the North End’s long-running Italian-American feast traditions will return to Hanover Street in August. The Annual Feast of the Madonna Della Cava will take place Aug. 7 to 9 on Hanover Street between Charter and Commercial streets, with a procession, live entertainment, vendors, games and traditional Italian food. The feast is hosted by the Society of the Madonna Della Cava, a North End religious and cultural organization founded by Sicilian immigrants.
The 2026 feast marks the 106th anniversary of the celebration in Boston’s North End. The feast honors the Madonna Della Cava, the patron saint of Pietraperzia, Sicily, where the original festival is still held. Many members of the Boston society are descendants of Italian-American families who settled in the North End.
