Offering an outstretched hand in 1958 to voter after voter, most of whom would end up casting a ballot against him, Vincent Celeste would bring his heels together and bow slightly. "I'm Vinnie Celeste," he said. "I am running for US senator against that millionaire Jack Kennedy."
A historical footnote in most Kennedy biographies, Mr. Celeste drew little notice when he died Jan. 26 at 90 in Kissimmee, Fla., where he had retired after living most of his life in East Boston and Stoneham.
