INSIDE THE MIND OF LEONARDO is a new feature film based on the private journals of Leonardo da Vinci, the renowned inventor, philosopher, artist and genius.
In a powerful and haunting performance, Peter Capaldi (best known for BBC's Doctor Who) portrays Leonardo, dramatically narrating passages and monologues extracted from over 6000 pages of da Vinci's journals, notes and drawings.
From the epic to the ordinary, INSIDE THE MIND OF LEONARDO explores how Leonardo experienced the world around him and how it relates to the world today. Following a biographical narrative, the film captures the artist's birth as a bastard peasant, his thwarted ambitions, hurt, anger, and sexual desires, as well as the mundane events of his everyday life.
The film opens December 19th in New York City at the Village East Cinema and in Los Angeles at the Crest Theatre. It continues to expand to major cities throughout the United States.
