After more than 700 years, Dante Alighieri's masterpiece, the Divine Comedy continues to inspire writers, artists, painters and directors who find in its pages an unlimited source of inspiration reinterpreting such a classic of the literature with a modern and contemporary twist. Also Hollywood is not immune to the Divine Comedy timeless charm as (according to Deadline) Warner Bros has purchased the script based on Dante's Inferno by Dwain Worrel (the same author of the 2010's zombie movie Walking the Dead and Amazon Studios thriller The Wall) in order to make Dante's epic poem into a movie that will be produced by Gianni Nunnari's Hollywood Gang and Akiva Goldsman's Weed Road.
Warner Bros cinematic version is going to be a modern retelling on the big screen of Dante's epic descent through the nine circles of Hell, while seeking out for his beloved Beatrice, lead by the Roman poet Virgil.
