Ovunque Siamo: New Italian American Writing and Ovunque Siamo Press are thrilled to present our inaugural book, Call Me Guido, a collection of short stories by Brooklyn-based writer, Mike Fiorito! Mike is a frequent contributor to and an ardent supporter of Ovunque Siamo’s mission of building community while curating the written and artistic works of Italian-Americans, so it was an easy choice to support him and his work, by publishing his short stories for all to enjoy.
Call Me Guido is a collection of short stories, but with a narrative arc, a taste of the old country, but with a distinct flavor of the new. Poet Joey Nicoletti (Thundersnow) describes Fiorito’s collection as “the stories of relatives, potato farmers, performers, imagined aristocrats, and the ballads they sing.” John Keahy (Seeking Sicily) says, “This collection, in quick bites, informs, entertains, and surprises---a masterpiece of storytelling.” Call me Guido is available on Amazon.com and has its own website at https://callmeguido.com/ We are proud of Mike who represents some of the best Italian-American writing in print!
