In keeping with this thought, Capannori, a rural town in Lucca, has become a trendsetter, not just in Italy but throughout Europe, as the continent's first Zero Waste town. Giorgio del Ghingaro, the mayor of Capannori, defines this trend as a "cultural revolution" that began with rubbish but went much further.
