The region of Campania in southwestern Italy is well known for several attractions, such as Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and of course the marvelous city of Napoli, which for many locals and tourists, is all about its pizzerie. But the wines of Campania, while becoming more recognized these days, are still under appeciated in the world of Italian wines.
Sadly, this is all too true for the Sannio district, situated in the province of Benevento in northern Campania. While the wines from Irpinia such as Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino and Taurasi gain most of the attention for the Campania region, the wines of the other provinces and districts seem to be known only by the passionate hardcore.
