The “bonsai” euro turbocharges Made in Italy, exports bring in €2 billion more

The hope is that the "bonsai" euro will last. The feeling, indeed, is like some kind of "manna" was falling from Heaven, a transient condition due to choices that are only partly controlled by the ECB. And precisely from the European currency's drop, in fact, stems one of the "hefty outside forces" leading Confindustria to maintain that Italy's recovery is now underway.


After a series of conflicting and inconsistent revenue and production figures, exports to non-EU countries vigorously breed optimism on Italy's chances of recovery, as they point to a double-digit growth in March.
