In 2021, consumption of Speck Alto Adige PGI increased by +2.79%, also thanks to an increase in production. The total number of marked speck production of the Protection Consortium was 2,881,229 (+43.14% compared to 2020). This positive trend has been going on for several years, while the production of non-certified speck has once again declined (-1.8%).
“We are proud to have reached this new milestone – says newly elected Consortium President Paul Recla – and we hope that 2022 will be no less. We are committed to continuously improving product quality, further increasing the reputation of the ‘Speck Alto Adige’ brand through effective measures, and to protecting the brand from abuse”.
