Despite the city having celebrated its 1600th anniversary in March, Venice restaurants never get old. The ever-evolving La Serenissima always remains true to its innate mysterious nature – a foundation that, for better or for worse, never delves too far into the contemporary on countless fronts.
While its streets will remain car-free for centuries to come, Venice restaurants, however, aren't as limited. As the gondoliers continue rowing along the Grand Canal and the artisans of Murano craft glass following the original 16th-century method, chefs have started stepping outside the boundaries of classic Venetian cuisine, putting forward a more contemporary riff.
