Orange fragrances will welcome you at the panoramic Parco Savelli in Rome, better known as Giardino degli Aranci. Whether you want to take a romantic walk, admire a magnificent view or enjoy a peaceful break from the bustle of the Italian capital, this park located in the heart of Rome is a worthy stop.
The Giardino degli Aranci is located on the Aventine hill, near the church of Santa Sabina sull'Aventino, where the unassailable fortress of the Savelli family, built between 1285 and 1287, once stood. Within its walls, architect Raffaele Vico created the garden in 1932, which became known as Giardino degli Aranci because it was planted with bitter orange trees, which continue to produce the fruit (it is forbidden to pick them up).
