I live in London, but I travel throughout the world and spend long periods of time in Rome. Yet it's only when I'm face-to-face with the rough panorama of the yellow-and-brown, sun-baked countryside of my parents' homeland, that I really and truly feel at home.
I was born in Epping, in the county of Essex, England, which is where my parents had moved to in 1958 from Castelfranco di Miscano, in the province of Benevento. I inherited a passion for music from my father, who had studied singing under Ettore Campogalliani; he, in turn, taught singing lessons himself.
