Italy gets €530 million BEI financing to build new schools

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi signed a protocol agreement yesterday in Rome that calls for the EIB (European Investment Bank) to make €530 million-worth of new loans available for school construction.


Renzi celebrated the event on School Safety Day (dedicated to the memory of Vito Scafidi, a student in Rivoli who was killed eight years ago when the ceiling of his high school collapsed) at the Pablo Neruda school, which was just completed in the outskirts of Selva Candida in Rome.
