Italy also got another gold earlier Thursday when Simone Consonni, who won Olympic gold at Tokyo with the pursuit team, won the points event ahead of Spain's Albert Torres Barceló and Frenchman Donovan Grondin. Also on Thursday, the women's pursuit team made up of Martina Alzini, Elisa Balsamo, Martina Fidanza and Vittoria Guazzini got the silver behind Great Britain and ahead of Germany.
