Space travel increasingly speaks Italian. Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic, the first privately owned corporation in the world committed to making space tourism possible, has announced it has taken on an Italian pilot to fly its space shuttle.
The man in question is Nicola Pecile, former military pilot in the Italian Air Force on a Tornado fighter aircraft, then test pilot with the experimental division of the Pratica di Mare air base, the same division such astronauts as Luca Parmitano, Roberto Vittori and Maurizio Cheli have come from.
