According to ISTAT, well-being rises in Italy, but perception on climate and security worsens

General well-being is growing, in our country: just over half of the 129 indicators (out of 152) for which the comparison is possible, in fact, ISTAT indicates, "have improved over the previous year, 28.7 percent are at worse levels and 17.8 percent are stable."

Less positive, on the other hand, is the 'performance' on the fronts of the environment (particularly on climate) and safety (especially on the perception of the risk of crime in the area where one lives). This can be read in the Report on Fair and Sustainable Well-being that was presented today by the Institute of Statistics, in Rome.

The report offers an in-depth reading of the levels, trends and inequalities of well-being that can be observed in the 12 domains into which the Bes 'framework' is divided, namely health, education and training, work and reconciliation of life times, economic well-being, social relations, politics and institutions, security, subjective well-being, landscape and cultural heritage, environment, innovation, research and creativity and quality of services.

Looking at Italian territories, the dossier, "classifying the regions into five classes of relative well-being (low, medium-low, medium, medium-high and high)," shows how those in the Northeast "are characterized by the highest levels of well-being, with more than half of the indicators in the two highest classes and no more than a fifth in the two tail classes," while "for the regions of the South the situation is reversed, with more than 55 percent of the indicators in the low and medium-low classes (about 70 percent in Campania and Sicily)." And it is noted, then, that in sharp deterioration are the indicators related to landscape and cultural heritage and social relations.
