Local chef Ralph Secondo has partnered with Lou's Breakfast and Lunch to offer Lou's Italian Buffet on Thursday and Friday nights. Each Thursday and Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m., the lights at the restaurant at 969 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike dim, and out come the checkered tablecloths and Italian music. For $15.99, customers are offered an all-you-can eat Italian buffet, along with an invitation to bring their own beer or wine.

Michael Kosciuszek, owner of the restaurant, which opened in July 2014, brought Secondo on board April 21 after the closing of the Hearthstone Pub earlier this year. It was at the Hearthstone that Kosciuszek first got a taste of Secondo's cooking, at what was then called the Old World Italian Buffet.
