Richard Sardella has been toying with the idea of opening a pizzeria for quite some time now, so when JF3 Salon relocated from the building next to his original restaurant, he knew it was time to take the leap. Earlier this week he opened Imbriglio’s Pizzeria Resto Bar Napoletana, a tribute to his grandfather Ricardo Imbriglio, at 32 Memorial Blvd. West, right next door to Sardella’s Italian Restaurant.
The goal is to offer authentic Neapolitan pizza of the kind his grandfather perfected. “My grandfather was born outside of Naples; I was named for him,” said Sardella. “He and the family immigrated to Brazil when he was 3; my great-grandmother opened a coffee plantation there.”
