Maria Markonidis of Hudson, Mass., spoke fondly of her memories in Albion village at the former Spicoli's Bar and Grill where she would bring her son and his friends on the Providence Capitals hockey team to grab a bite to eat after games and practices.

It became the team's spot for the past three years, she said, and she fell in love with the charm of the village, where she would stroll along the Blackstone River Bikeway while waiting for her 11-year-old son, Lesty, to finish up practices. The team was sad to learn about Spicoli's closing, but that's when a thought crossed Markonidis' mind.
