Tim Bando, who closed his Grove Hill restaurant in Chagrin Falls in June, isn't going far for his next gig: He has been named executive chef of M Italian. The restaurant features classic Italian dishes and pizzas baked in a wood-burning oven. It is owned by Chef Art Pour Restaurant Group, which also owns Burntwood Tavern.
M Italian is at 22 W. Orange St., Chagrin Falls. It opened in 2015. Grove Hill, which is a few blocks to the southeast of M Italian, closed after four years because of what Bando saw as a saturated market and slow summer dining period. In Bando, M Italian gets a James Beard Award nominee whose priority will be in helping direct the restaurant's fall menu.
