The Italian Studies Program at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a full-time, visiting faculty member in Italian to begin fall 2016. This is a two-year teaching position, with competitive salary and benefits. Particular attention will be given to candidates whose area of specialization is the Mediterranean and/or the Medieval/Renaissance period.

The teaching load for this position is five courses per year, and the successful candidate will teach Italian courses (language and culture) at the introductory and advanced level. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of strong teaching at the undergraduate level and experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. All candidates should have their doctoral degree in hand by the start of the contract period (1 July 2016).
