Eddie Glorioso, one of the founding brothers of Glorioso's Italian Market, died Monday. He was 95. The well-known store that's been a part of Brady Street's business district for decades announced his passing on Facebook. "For those who knew him, he was a giant part of the grocery store, where he had a special gift of making people smile. He was larger-than-life and an icon of Brady Street," according to the Facebook post.
"We cannot quantify the amount of spirit that he put into our community. We love you, Eddie." Eddie Glorioso opened the Italian market with his two brothers on St. Valentine's Day in 1946. Their father, Felice Glorioso, was a Sicilian immigrant who worked on Commission Row in Milwaukee selling produce from a pushcart.
