Luxury case goods resource Theodore Alexander will be the exclusive North American distributor for an Italian-made collection of case goods and upholstery for Medea Lifestyle 1905, a joint venture launched by its parent company Creative Home Furniture and Medea, s.r.l. Medea Lifestyle 1905 will include 80 pieces inspired by the furnishings of Milanese mansions of the thirties including Villa Necchi Campiglio designed by Piero Portaluppi.
The company said the collection also takes its aesthetic from “a juxtaposition of classic antiquity that embraces Italy’s artistic traditions and the great modern revolution of the Bauhaus under Walter Gropius and Mies van der Rohe. Medea Lifestyle 1905 works to create a balance between old and new, conservation and revolution.” Medea was founded in Milan in 1905, where the company continues to produce home furnishings for the local luxury marketplace.
