You’ve read the book, now see the exhibit! "Transatlantic Style: A Romance of Fins and Chrome," is a celebration of Italian/American automotive style that is open through Sept. 30 at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville, California.
The exhibit was originally supposed to be held at the Palm Springs Art Museum in conjunction with last year’s Modernism Week festivities in that most modernistic of cities. If there is a better location for tail fins and chrome, we can’t imagine it. Then, just before it was supposed to open, some sort of high-level management kerfuffle took place and the show was given the ax, at least in Palm Springs.
