Baton Rouge-based D'Agostino's Italian Specialties LLC has acquired Fresina Pasta Co. & Italian Specialties, a hand-crafted pasta maker in business since 1991, with plans to expand its operations.
Chef Robert D'Agostino and Executive Chef Daniel Thompson own D'Agostino's Italian Specialties. Terms of the deal, which closed July 1, were not disclosed.
D'Agostino and Thompson plan to expand the manufacturing operations to distribute regionally to restaurants and food specialty stores. D'Agostino said right now Fresina's pasta is only carried by Alexander's market.
