The weather is great, and everyone wants to celebrate with an outdoor street party. Next up in the season's list of heritage celebrations is the eighth annual Italian Festival from 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the Robert Mills House and Hampton-Preston Mansion on Blanding Street.

Hosted by the Sons of Italy in America Bella Italia Lodge 2808-Columbia, the event is free to the public and features a bocce tournament, grape-stomping contest, music and dancing, and of course plenty of Italian food.
