Revelers Color Cross Bay Green, White, & Red at Howard Beach Columbus Day Parade

The green, white, and red flags and bunting on Cross Bay Boulevard last Friday signaled the fast-approaching start of a cherished Howard Beach tradition. Marshals, revelers, civic leaders, and elected officials last Sunday celebrated Italian-Americans and their heritage at the 10th annual Howard Beach Columbus Day Parade.

The Rev. Msgr. Jamie Gigantello, vicar of development for the Diocese of Brooklyn, served as the 2015 parade grand marshal. The deputy grand marshals were NYPD Inspector John Corbisiero, Sanitation Department deputy commissioner Rocco DiRico, and accountant Salvatore Armao.
