February 2 (Thursday) 5:30 pm. "La Serenissima": The Millenarian Venice A discussion with Jordi Savall. Moderated by Magdalena Baczewska. Jordi Savall is among the foremost performers of early music in the world today. Savall will speak about the myriad musical styles and influences at play throughout the thousand-year lifespan of the Venetian Republic. This lecture will be illustrated by short musical examples.
