The celebration of St. Joseph's Day, in honor of the Feast Day of the Patron Saint of the Working Person, is a long-standing tradition in the New York State Legislature.
St. Joseph's Day is also the day when the swallows are traditionally believed to return to Mission San Juan Capistrano after having flown south for the winter. This year the New York State Conference of Italian-American State Legislators hosted their annual "Good Joe's" celebration at our State Capitol!
