Batavia resident, Jerry Grasso, is named this year's Italian-American of the Year by Batavia Downs Gaming. Grasso is currently a trustee of the Knights of Columbus, and was a volunteer at Notre Dame High School for 25 years.

Joe Gerace, the first recipient of the annual award, calls Grasso "an asset to our community for many years" and "a good family man". Gerace will serve as master of ceremonies when Grasso is awarded on Monday.
