Syracuse'se Festa Italiana will be held on September 13-15 (next Friday - Sunday). It'll include a meatball eating contest, bocce challenge, children's tent, heritage tent, wine making demonstrations, open air mass (on Sunday with Syracuse's new Bishop), bingo, photo booth, food vendors, live music and more.
John Cerrone is in charge of the heritage 'tent.' (Actually a walk-through display area in City Hall Commons' Atrium.) There will be pictures and displays, and talks, on the Italians who've settled here since the early 1900s--some are in the 5th generation of running family-owned businesses.
