For half a century, the S&M Grocery & Delicatessen has claimed the cozy corner of Norton Avenue and Watson Boulevard in Endwell. It's housed a small grocery-turned-deli on the first floor, the livelihood of the Scarapicchia family and pride of its founder, Italian-born Sam Scarapicchia, who along with his wife, Mary, raised a family on the second floor.
Sebastiano "Sam" Scarapicchia, 89, of Endwell, died April 25. His legacy lives in his greatest loves: the business he built and the family who grew inside it.
