Tamburri, della CUNY, è un nome ormai sinonimo di esperienza nel campo dell'italianistica e degli studi sulla letteratura italoamericana, dunque presenza appropriata per presiedere al lancio di un libro dedicato al tema dell'immigrazione italiana in America.
