Details for the 56th annual Columbus Day Parade were unveiled Monday morning. The parade and Italian Festival will be held on Monday October 12th starting at 10 a.m. on the corner of Main and Arthur Streets. It also features its signature band competition with over ten area high school marching bands participating.

Volunteers from Saint Mary's Church, the Women's Abruzzi club, and members of the men's and women's Sons of Italy lodges will be serving up authentic Italian cuisine on Water Street. The event is sponsored by Mirabito Energy Products. CEO Joe Mirabito said the tradition pays homage to his Italian ancestors that came to America for an opportunity to succeed.
