Just for a change of pace I thought I'd write about something apolitical and address one of my favorite subjects—religion. There's a wee controversy brewing in Worcester and in the Italian community about the closing of the venerable Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Mulberry Street in Worcester's Shrewsbury Street neighborhood.

I left the Catholic Church many, many moons ago, so I'm labeled a 'lapsed' Catholic. I'm also a devout atheist. Some would say that precludes me from writing about this topic, but that's silly, so I'll continue.
