Old world flavor promises new world delight on Day 2 at The Feast of the Three Saints. The Taste of Italy event, Saturday, Sept. 3, at Cafe Tre Santi — the Holy Rosary Church parking lot — will unveil traditional sausage, mozzarella and bread making, and display real Italian olive oils and wines. Each presenter will serve samples. "What better way to share our culture than with food, and learning how to make traditional Italian foods," says Tony Palmisano, a feast organizer.

A majority of these makers and sellers were raised in Italian regions famous for their products and say flavor rests on fresh ingredients and simple, time-tested methods that rely on knowing hands. Artisan cheesemaker Luca Mignogna grew up in Italy on his grandfather's farm and trained under a master cheesemaker. When he came to America in 2004 he missed the fresh mozzarella he was accustomed to and, later, in 2011, founded Wolf Meadow Farm in Amesbury.
