Sons of Italy of Southern Colorado Lodge No. 2738 has scheduled the 16th annual scholarship and Italian citizen of the year dinner gala for 6 p.m. March 7 at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center.

The event, which is almost sold out, will honor students of Italian heritage in Southern Colorado with 18 scholarships worth $750 each, bringing the lodge's total amount awarded to more than $215,000. The theme will be "Honoring our Italian Ancestors from New Orleans" and will feature the Blues Brothers Revue from Las Vegas.
