Today we honor Don Bosco Centers Kansas City. The Don Bosco Community Center located at 526 Campbell Street opened its doors on September 8, 1940. This picture was published in the Kansas City Star on September 9th and it was taken at the dedication ceremony the day before. Money, property, and time were donated to build this community center.
Many of the men would come home after a long day of work and spend several hours each night working to build this community center. The Don Bosco Centers have spent 75 years helping the community and this is where it all began. To learn more about the Don Bosco Centers go to http://www.donbosco.org/
