The Comitato Tri Colore Italiane nel Mondo is inviting the entire community to bring its Italian flags and take part in the Festa della Repubblica on May 31 at the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii in Chicago.
Chicago's celebration of the unification of Italy will begin with an 11 a.m. Mass, followed by a procession with the Sicilian Band of Chicago to Garibaldi Park for a wreath-laying ceremony in front of the statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi. A classic Italian car show will take place afterward in front of the Shrine, with food and beverages for sale.
